Feasibility, project development and business planning
We specialise in producing comprehensive feasibility work for the establishment of credit unions and other affordable financial services, developing economic and social cases for services in several areas including Hertfordshire, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and most recently Wandsworth.

 

GRE Consulting has a wealth of experience when it comes to setting up a range of new projects, programmes, partnership, charities and social businesses – particularly new credit unions from the initial idea stages right through to inception.

 

Moreover, we have developed numerous growth strategies for new and existing organisations producing their new business plans.

 

Developing policy and strategy
We also focus on working with social organisations to develop and implement tailor made strategies for combating financial exclusion. We have worked with a number of local authorities and registered social landlords to research financial exclusion and its effect on their residents and communities. We don’t just help develop focused and innovative solutions and shape financial inclusion strategies but also implementing them across often large organisations.

 

Research studies and evaluations
We have now undertaken a huge array of research within the field of financial inclusion, community finance and consumer behaviour with financial services - delivering high profile national, regional and local research studies including:

 

  • Quantifying the extent of financial exclusion and mapping of provision within Hackney,
  • Investigating the high costs of insurance products in Northern Ireland.
  • A national assessment of the impact of illegal money lending on consumers.
  • An evaluation of effective financial capability strategies in the UK.
  • Evaluating the impact of the ongoing financial crisis on vulnerable consumers who are currently financi ally excluded

 

Fundraising and income generation
Over the last seven years, GRE Consulting has been directly responsible for securing grant funding of almost £2 million for the various projects and programmes it has worked upon. It has a superb track record of identifying and securing funding and other resources from a range of funders, including national government, local authorities, registered social landlords, charitable trusts and other public and private sector agencies.

 

So whether it’s making formal written applications or negotiating directly with potential funders, we have the relevant fundraising skills and experience to raise small or large funding targets.

 

Interim management
We are also able to provide experienced and skilled consultants at affordable prices to fill short-term management positions within local authorities, social housing providers, voluntary sector organisations and credit unions by cutting out the costly recruitment firms.

 

Training and conference speaking
We deliver a range of training sessions based upon our experience of financial inclusion and credit union work. Our people are also regularly invited to speak and deliver information session at various conferences.

Community audits and consultation
If you need to discover the community profile of an area or find out the views of local people, we have a strong track record of undertaking community audits and mapping exercises as well as implementing surveys and consultation exercises amongst organisations or residents.
